Produced for 2008 IOC Bid
Inline Speed Skating is not yet an Olympic sport, but has its own World Cup competition and a World Championships, contested by more than 50 nations. It is the aim of the International Roller Sports Federation to bring the sport into the Olympic Games. Despite a desire by the IOC President to reduce the size of the Summer Olympics, Inline or Roller Speed Skating remains on a shortlist of (currently) 7 eligible sports for transposition into the Games.
